| Body: | Remember when you were a kid, and you’d play pretend? You could see fairies, you could see goblins and if you stood behind a cardboard box then you were a shopkeep? You could sell a loaf of bread which was actually a bucket of mud to the customer that was actually your sister for some invisible money. And it was freakin’ awesome. Nowadays if you want to try to experience some kind of dire situation where you and your friends are being chased by monsters, hunting a Dragon, or assassinating somebody (Because you’re a Ninja), then the best you can hope for is watching it in a DVD or playing it in a Video Game. Back in the day if you wanted to be batman, you didn’t go watch batman, you didn’t go play a batman game, you just put on the fucking costume and you WERE batman! And it didn’t even matter if you didn’t have a costume, you’d just make wooshing noises when you moved and that was enough. I say we play pretend. Who wants to play pretend with me? I’m sick of waiting for the apocalypse, and I’m sick of waiting for Zombies. So how about we all just get together, sleep in some room, and when we wake up, we’ll play pretend that while we were asleep, the world came to its inevitable end! We’ll collect whatever weapons we can, and kill the zombies around us! Sure, they’re actually people, but if you imagine hard enough then it’ll seem like the real deal! And if the cops show up, then they’re the evil robots from the future, trying to take over the ruins of earth! AND WE MUST DESTROY THEM! We’ll have so much fun! You can wear whatever you want! If you want to be a super hero, then bam, you’re a super hero! We can hide in shrubs, we can walk into shops and take whatever we want, and whoever tries to stop us is a zombie! And if the robots show up, fuck it, we can beat them down too! Eventually, the robots will capture us, and lock us up with the other zombies. But the game doesn’t have to stop there! We can play pretend forever! AND EVER! Who’s with me? Who wants to play pretend? I am so fucking sick of this reality. |
